The story behind the legend
Once upon a time...
The Beech 18 ‘Twin Beech’ is a short-haul airliner designed in 1935 for 6 to 8 passengers. The project was led by Walter Beech and Dwane Wallace. It is a twin-engine aircraft with low wings and a classic electrically retractable landing gear, semi-monocoque and metal construction, with fabric-covered control surfaces and a double tailplane. More than 9,000 units were built in 32 different versions until 1969.
This aircraft was flown to Cerny-La Ferté Alais aerodrome by Baptiste Salis, Brice Ohayon and Arnaud Kervella in 2016, after crossing the Atlantic and flying more than 25 hours and 8,000 km over Canada, Greenland, Iceland and Scotland.
