The story behind the legend

Once upon a time...

In 1929, VF-1B is a US Navy squadron freshly equipped with the latest Curtiss F8C "Helldiver" fighter-bomber, which it operates for the West Coast of the USA from Mitchel Field in New York.

As the day drew to a close, an alarm sounded on the field, and the pilots jumped into their planes and raced towards Manhattan, where panic had gripped the city as a giant gorilla took refuge on the highest building, trying to escape from the army that had been called in to neutralize it. A squadron of 6 Curtiss "Helldiver" planes swarms down on the beast, desperately trying to protect Miss Ann Darrow...

So, what's this giant gorilla-looking fictional monster got to do with our jacket label? We're offering you a magnificent brown canvas jacket with a fur collar in the purest style of the 1930s.

The collar is removable, so you can enjoy your jacket all year round.

In a nod to this legendary 1933 film, we recommend matching your VF1B jacket with the Barnstormer suit available in the same color, and rest assured :

"The planes had nothing to do with it - it was the beauty that did it!
