The story behind the legend
Once upon a time...
The Grace Spitfire is much more than just an airplane; it is a living icon of aviation history and World War II. The Supermarine Spitfire, designed by R.J. Mitchell, is famous for its crucial role in the Battle of Britain, where it helped defend the British skies against Axis forces.
The Grace Spitfire, in particular, carries a moving and inspiring story. Restored by Nick Grace in the 1980s, this aircraft was brought back to its original condition with meticulous attention to detail. After the tragic death of Nick Grace, his widow, Carolyn Grace, took the controls, becoming one of the few female Spitfire pilots in the world. Thanks to her dedication, the Grace Spitfire continues to fly, offering current generations the chance to see this magnificent aircraft in action and to remember the sacrifices made for freedom.
The Spitfire is renowned for its speed, maneuverability, and aerodynamic elegance. Equipped with a Rolls-Royce Merlin engine, it could reach impressive speeds and maneuver with exceptional agility, making it a formidable opponent in aerial combat.
