Let's delve into the history of the SR-71 Blackbird, one of the fastest aircraft ever built.
The SR-71 Blackbird is a strategic reconnaissance aircraft developed in the 1960s, famous for its exceptional performance, notably its ability to fly at altitudes in excess of 24,000 meters (80,000 feet) and at speeds in excess of Mach 3. Used mainly by the US Air Force during the Cold War, the SR-71 played a crucial role in aerial intelligence gathering, bypassing enemy defense systems thanks to its speed and altitude.
Although it was retired from service in the 1990s, its legacy lives on as an icon of technological innovation in military aviation.
